MTSO: Cost Effective

In our twelve years of writing and publishing medical transcription software, we have talked on the phone to hundreds of small- to mid- sized transcription agencies. Just in December of 2006, one told us they had spent over $200,000 in developing a typing package for their MTs (and they wanted assistance from us in the line-counting module). I wonder if they will ever recoup that huge expenditure. Although I didn't say it, I think they would have been well-served to have spent two or three days investigating the capabilities of MPWord before committing such a block of capital into a typing package. (I believe MPWord, exceptionally versatile, would have undoubtedly done what they need.)

The major software companies in the medical transcription field -- we are not one of them, we are a small business -- also offer typing packages, one charging $80,000 plus $3,000 per workstation. And the major companies love tying you in with their annual service contracts, totalling thousands per year. We, as a small business, stand behind our software, and have never charged anyone even a dime for support.

It may be my Scottish blood, but even if I still had my medical transcription agency, I couldn't justify spending hundreds of thousands to develop my own software, or putting hundreds of thousands into the big company's coffer. I'd find a cost effective solution, one just as good, and one versatile.

The cost of MTSO?
     $2495 for two workstations;
     MT workstations, Team Edition: $35.00.
You may want a Standard to help with registering facilities: $79.00
You may want an additional MTSO installed in the medical records department of your primary client so they can import work from you into MTSO, with automatic printing, with the lookup and dispatch in-house.

How can we offer such software at such affordable prices? We speak about that here.

We also offer Team at $35 to holders of the Professional license. The help file gives instructions how to manually gather together the setup files for your remote MTs, and you will need to manually put their finished work into the proper folders. We make this offer to the tiny service (3 or 4 MTs) so that they might grow into a small service (10 to 15 MTs), at which time the labor-saving features of MTSO might make economic sense.

In the central office:
     Import transcription from Remote MTs
Small file size for long-term storage
     Setup Remote MT
     Easy broadcast communication
     Parse ADTs
Set different counting for MTs and clients
Set pay rate for each MT individually
Easy invoicing of clients with accurate counting
Automatic file moving / management 24/7
     All communications HIPAA-compliant
Easy look-up and resend when client loses report

MTSO: User Comments

Trish M (post): "As a moderate sized transcription service, we have found MPWord to be an absolute lifesaver for our clients and our transcriptionists with maintaining consistency in production. The system has been very easy to use from an MTSO perspective, and very easy to teach to our remote MTs. It also integrates beautifully with our Audiworxs voice management system as well. This has definitely been one of the best investments we've made in my 35 years in business."

Nicole (post): "Our MTSO has been using MPWord for quite a few years now and I could not imagine life without it. It has automated so many of the time consuming tasks we have each day with processing batches of work from our remote MTs and dispatching completed transcripts to invoicing. Setup was easy and any question or problem I have ever had with the program has been addressed by Vann Joe without delay. This program has it all and is very user friendly. Vann Joe is always open to suggestions and continually works to add even more functionality to the software platform to make our daily tasks far less daunting and time-consuming. I seriously consider it one of the single best business investments I have ever made!"
